Contact: Beverly Sabelhaus, Guild President: 804-580-9121
The Tavern Woodworker's Guild was established in 2008 under the sponsorship of the RH/HT Foundation Inc.
The Guild is organized primarily for educational purposes, including:
- to encourage and facilitate the establishment of training programs for aspiring woodworkers
- to disseminate information about sources of material and equipment
- to expose the art of woodworking to the public
- to make items typical of the tavern era for sale to the public
- to provide information about woodworking for the general public
Any person, firm, school, museum engaged in/or interested in woodworking may become a member.
The Guild is currently building Shaker Boxes to sell in the Tavern Gift Shop and at the Farmers' Markets.
Our shop at the Tavern will be completed this Spring (2011). Our 'mission' is education. We want to learn and teach the skill of woodworking both past and present. The Guild makes products to sell in the shop, gift shop and at Farmers Markets. We have completed a beautiful pie safe that is for sale in the gift shop. We meet at the Tavern shop on Wed and Fridays from 9AM till 4PM.
