Tavern Scholarship FundAt the May, 2010, board meeting, Omega Protein made a generous donation for the Tavern Foundation to begin a Scholarship Fund. Unfortunately we missed the 2010 school year, however, on a positive note that allows us to be prepared for the 2011 school year. The announcement of the generous donation was made at Pub Nite May 24, and a number of members stepped up to the challenge of starting the fund. We are now asking members to be part of this exciting local opportunity. Help young adults believe in the dreams that a college education can bring. Education is part of the Strategic Plan for the Foundation, not only on-site programs and events but helping local area students. The Blacksmith Guild has encouraged Aislinn Lewis to pursue a Blacksmith Arts education and now the Foundation is following their lead. A committee will be formed to develop requirements and procedures for the administration of the scholarship money. ![]() Jane B Crowther presenting the Omega Protein check to Robert Hundley, Treasurer and George Hollows, President. |
